Acts 14:8-10
8 And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who had never walked. 9 This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, 10 said with a loud voice, “Stand up straight on your feet!” And he leaped and walked.
Notice what Paul looked for, he looked for faith, Paul was apparently able to see that this man had faith by "observing him intently."
Two things to take from this:
1. Apparently people can see our faith, they see it through our works, the things we do, the way we treat people, the way we use our lives to show Christ to others. Faith isn't just some feeling inside, it directs every step of your life, so much so that all someone has to do is "observe you intently" and they can see it.
2. Do we all lack sufficient faith to do great things? Are we bereft of healings because we are bereft of faith? This man went from not being able to stand to leaping for joy! Do we still believe that God can do great things? Or do we still put our hope in doctors and science?

That new church of yours seems to be having quite an influence on you. You aren't sounding quite so Presbyterian these days. ;o)
Seriously, these are excellent thoughts. It's so true that people need to see our faith in our actions. We Christians blend in too well with the world. I used to think that was because of a lack of actions, but now I see it's a lack of faith.
In the Gospels Jesus frequently praises a person's faith before He heals him or her. Whenever I read that I wonder what it would feel like to hear the King of the universe say something like that to me. Lord willing I'll find out someday.
Oh, and thanks for not entitling this post "Got Faith?"
